On 27 April 2025, 14 year-four students from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Programme, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) offered free medical consultations during the Pass the Love On Blood Donation Campaign, engaging with the public by providing constitution analysis, pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, and personalized health consultations.
The event was organized by the Seremban Chapter of the International Fo Guang Association Malaysia and held at Arena Seremban.
Led by Head of Programme Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang and supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Tan Hong Yien and Ms. Kho Jia Jia, the students applied their academic training to real-world clinical scenarios, refining critical skills such as independent consultation, patient communication, clinical judgment, and adaptability. The opportunity to serve the community not only strengthened their clinical competencies, but also reinforced their commitment to the core TCM value of benevolence in medicine.
This outreach effort also played a vital role in promoting public awareness of TCM’s preventive healthcare philosophy, emphasizing early intervention and holistic wellness. Through face-to-face engagement, the students helped cultivate greater public trust and understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine within the community.
