On 1 March 2025, the MBA Centre of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) successfully held the 17th edition of its MBA Networking Day with a site visit to Agroz Edu Farm, located at AEON Mall Wangsa Maju (Alpha Angle), Kuala Lumpur. The event convened MBA students, alumni, and academic staff for a day of experiential learning and meaningful professional networking.

The primary objective of the visit was to provide participants with firsthand exposure to Agroz Edu Farm’s innovative agri-tech operations. As a leading company in vertical farming, Agroz Edu Farm delivers integrated hardware, software, and farm management solutions to clients across Malaysia, Qatar, Oman, and Indonesia. The visit also served as an exploratory platform for potential internship and collaboration opportunities between the company and XMUM MBA students.

The day began with a comprehensive briefing session led by Mr. Tham Keng Yew, who introduced participants to Agroz’s business model, technological innovations, and global outreach. The session was followed by an engaging Q&A segment, allowing attendees to delve deeper into the company’s strategies and future plans.

Participants were then divided into two groups for hands-on farming activities, including seeding, transplanting, and harvesting demonstrations. These sessions were guided by Agroz farm staff, offering practical insights into the daily operations and sustainability practices of vertical farming. Each session concluded with a guided tour of the facility and a photo-taking session.

A highlight of the day was the Packaging Party, where participants harvested fresh vegetables and prepared them for takeaway - an interactive experience that combined fun with learning.

The event not only enhanced students' understanding of sustainable agricultural practices but also provided a valuable platform for meaningful interactions among students, alumni, and industry professionals. Such engagement aligns with the XMUM MBA programme’s commitment to integrating academic learning with real-world business exposure.
