The MBA Centre at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) successfully organized MBA Networking Day 17.0, themed "AI Unleashed: Navigating Sovereignty & Smart Business" at Block A2. The event brought together MBA students, alumni, lecturers, industry professionals, and prospective students for discussions on AI’s role in governance and smart business operations.

The event featured two distinguished keynote speakers: Ts. Tan Aik Keong, Founder and CEO of Agmo Holdings Berhad, and Mr. Zach Azizul Othman, Co-Founder of Lekir Tech (M) Sdn Bhd. Their presentations explored AI Sovereignty and AI Agents, offering insights into AI’s growing influence on business and governance.

Ts. Tan examined AI Sovereignty and the Malaysia AI Ecosystem Map, highlighting how national AI strategies drive economic growth and technological independence. He emphasized AI-driven automation’s role in enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and creating opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs.

Mr. Zach explored the impact of AI Agents on business workflows in his talk, AI Agents: The Future of Smart Business Operations. He demonstrated how AI-driven automation streamlines decision-making and workflow management. He also introduced the Large Action Model (LAM), an AI system capable of autonomously executing tasks based on user prompts, redefining business efficiency and productivity.

A forum discussion, moderated by MBA student Mr. Cheung Kenneth Shiwye (January 2025 Cohort), delved into AI's impact on Malaysia’s business landscape, data privacy, ethics, and the role of startups and SMEs in AI adoption.

The event fostered networking and idea exchange among industry experts, MBA students, and lecturers. Mr. Nicholas Lim Chin Shyuen (January 2024 Cohort) served as the event host, ensuring a smooth program flow.
