On 13 February 2025, the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (STCM) welcomed 13 new students from the 2025/02 intake in a dedicated orientation event.

The event commenced with opening remarks from Prof. Chen Shaodong, Dean of STCM, and Dr. Lim Chee Hoong, STCM Student Union Advisor, who extended their heartfelt welcome and encouragement. Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang, Head of Programme, introduced the faculty and key academic guidelines, ensuring that new students have a clear understanding of their curriculum.

Following this, representatives from the STCM Student Union, the Supervisory Committee, the Herbal Garden, and the XMUM TCM Centre introduced their roles and responsibilities, fostering a deeper connection between the new students and the broader TCM community at XMUM.

The orientation also featured interactive activities designed to build camaraderie and help students adjust to university life. Freshmen actively participated, enjoying the lively atmosphere and forging new friendships through team-building exercises. The evening concluded with an award ceremony, group photos, and best wishes for the students’ academic journey ahead.
